JOHN Godissart

Pastor John loves leading people on a life-changing adventure with Jesus. He has served as a pastoral leader for almost three decades in both large and small churches. He started serving as pastoral leader and church planter of The Well on July 1, of 2023. His life verse is from the book of Proverbs. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6). He came to trust Christ through the godly example of his parents and grew in faith through mentors and friends on his journey of faith. He grew up in Philipsburg and has pastored in the Renovo Area of Clinton County, the McConnellsburg area of Fulton County, and in Blair County. He is a graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola High School, Indiana University of PA and Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky.
John and his wife Karen met through the singing group Re-Creation. She teaches music and French at the Great Commission Schools in Altoona. They are parents of Joel (a recent Saint Francis University graduate), Elianna (a senior at the University of Valley Forge), Albert, "AJ"(a recent Great Commission School graduate, Lillie, and Analiese (students at Great Commission School).
In his spare time, John enjoys the great outdoors. His family lives on a farmette in Sinking Valley that they call Quiet Place Farm. In addition to work around the farm, you might find Pastor John gardening, hiking, fishing, swimming, or puttering around in the barn caring for their chickens, rabbits, cats, or dog. He invites you to fall into The Well. Come and thirst for the living God and offer life-giving water to Blair County and beyond!
